The Great Story

Final piece for LS ONE Creative Response.
Title: The Great Story

It was inspired by the Meso Americans Myth of origin. I started searching up other cultures Myths of Origin and stumbled upon "The Great Story" which basically is Evolutionary Theory.

The first piece of the triptych represents the Big Bang Theory. The silk ball has been rumpled and sewn by hand. It stands on its own as does our universe.
The second piece represent the impressions of the Endiccara Fauna Fossils found in Australia, which are the predecessors of all vertebras on Earth. The impressions are hand stitched on satin.
The third is the Evolution of Man. The illustrations were printed on silk and mounted on foam core. I could talk more about this piece but I'll leave it at that....

OCAD: I'm Still Alive...

I am feeling quite happy with having finished my first semester at OCAD. I am pretty sure they were looking to kill me in work somewhere around October/November, but I survived it all. I must admit it has been a wonderful experience. I loved almost every moment of it.

The hardest class for me is my Liberal Studies class. Writing is not my forte and writing an essay the night before is definitely not the way to go, I learned that hard lessong on Essay #2 this semester.

Group critiques > This is the norm at OCAD. You bring something in and we will tell you what you could have done better. I just LOVE these! Personally I think its a wonderful way of learning and helping you not take things personally.

DRAWING CLASS > Favourite Class EVER! I'm sure going to miss this one.

Next 2 weeks I get to relax and sleep in...ahhhhh....finally!!!!

Santa brought me an early Christmas present.

My old macbook Pro crashed and Apple took 2 weeks to get the part in so they just gave me a NEW generation MacBook Pro

Thank you Apple!!! I love my new computer!!!
